The Browne STF Load Check Indicator & Holder is intended for use inside each basket or tray to verify the cleaning efficacy of a surgical instrument washer disinfector machine.
STF Load Check Indicator is a chemical indicator manufactured from a plastic substrate that is printed on both sides, with a pattern of dried ‘test soil’ formula. The STF Load Check holder is manufactured from 304 grade stainless steel and is corrosion and abrasion resistant. It will withstand the chemical, mechanical and thermal strains encountered during the normal washer-disinfector process. It is designed to fold the indicator centrally at 90º so as to present two orthogonal vertical planes and therefore four directions for the washing process to be challenged. In addition, the flat back of the holder allows a horizontal challenge. Complete removal of the dried ‘test soil’ pattern from the plastic substrate provides a qualitative assessment of the washer disinfector cleaning performance.
Formulation
The dried test soil formula contains two sources of protein, lipids and polysaccharides and is formulated to mimic the cleaning efficacy soil tests for surgical instruments described in BS2745 (1), prEN ISO 15883 (2) and HTM2030
(3). The Browne dried ‘test soil’ formula contains no blood products.
Performance
The Browne STF Load Check Indicator has a performance equivalent to cleaning efficacy soil tests for surgical instruments described in BS2745 (1), prEN ISO 15883 (2) and HTM2030 (3)
Safety
Hazard identification:
The Browne STF Load Check Indicator contains no blood products. Browne retains documentary evidence that the indicator does not release any substance known as toxic, in a sufficient quantity to cause a health hazard before, during or after a washer-disinfector process.
Disposal:
Any Browne STF Load Check Indicator may be disposed of by incineration or any
method used locally for the disposal of domestic waste or similar material.
Storage
Browne STF Load Check Indicators should be stored in unopened or resealed
packages in cool (0 - 30° C) dry (30 — 60% RH) conditions away from direct sunlight.
Shelf Life
1 year from date of manufacture when stored as directed.
